Pure Barre is a unique workout that combines ballet with strength training exercises and tiny isometric movements intended to target specific muscle groups — and you don't need to be able to fit into a leotard to do it. In fact, the low-impact workout is suitable for people of all sizes and athletic abilities; both men and women are welcome to join in on a class.
That doesn't mean that Pure Barre doesn't deliver results. To the contrary, the studio's website claims that the workout is "one of the fastest, most effective ways to change the shape of your body," with participants typically seeing results after three or four of Pure Barre's 55-minute classes.
